What is hypnotic suggestion and how could it possibly have an effect on someone’s behavior? These are questions that many people have in their mind when they first hear about hypnosis. Different approaches have different effects, and while some people respond better to commands, other respond better to suggestion. How susceptible you are to trance also varies, but everyone is susceptible to some extent. If you want to experience my style hypnosis, I have some free files for beginners on my store: Good Boy Training Part 1 and Part 2.
An observation I have made: Hypnotic suggestion is the best approach for people who are skeptical of hypnosis. As a matter of fact many people start their journey into hypnosis by being skeptical of it. Many of the hypnosis subjects who contact me start their story in a similar way:
I didn’t even believe in hypnosis. There was no way it would affect me, I thought. I was just trying out a hypnosis recording about sissification just for kicks. But then I kind of liked it… so I decided to listen to another one. Soon enough I just craved to dress like a sissy and I couldn’t get the thought of my mind.
Hypnotic Commands vs Hypnotic Suggestions
Hypnosis comes with many different approaches. There are more direct and authoritarian forms of hypnosis that focus heavily on commands and direct guidance. Then there are more indirect, suggestion based approaches. My youtube hypnosis channel is heavily suggestion based. Ericksonian Hypnosis for instance is all about suggestion rather than commands. Erickson, one of the fathers of hypnotherapy, believed that a hypnosis subject will often respond with resistance and skepticism when the hypnotist tries to command them.
This is what makes hypnotic suggestion so powerful, it disarms you. Instead of saying “go walk into that cave!” a suggestion says “wow that cave looks cool and interesting. You kind of want to explore it don’t you? Well if you want to, go ahead...” Instead of telling you what to do, a hypnotic suggestion influences you indirectly. It builds your curiosity for the experience and leave it open to you, so you end up walking right into the experience. A hypnotic command and hypnotic suggestion could lead you to do the same behavior. The difference is, when it’s a suggestion, you feel it was your choice. You can see this in an example:
A hypnotic command: You are getting tired listening to me. You are getting so tired that your eyes are getting heavy. Now close your eyes.
A hypnotic suggestion: As you continue to listen you might find yourself getting tired. In fact you might be getting so tired that your eyes want to close. If they want to close, you can let them close.
Notice how these phrases sound different? Which one would you respond differently to? I have a strong sense that women make better hypnotists because women often know how to wield the power of suggestion as well as command. Many beginners respond better to light hypnotic suggestion at first, and then crave more and more direction and force. Suggestions can range from very light suggestion to more powerful suggestion. Seasoned hypnosis slaves often absorb commands better than beginners because they no longer have resistance.
Why is hypnotic suggestion so powerful?
Hypnotic suggestion is powerful because it influences the subject the entire time, but the subject usually doesn’t notice it. As you follow my voice, follow my suggestions and begin to feel the things I encourage you to feel, you assume it is all coming from you. I suggest you think of being on your knees. Wouldn’t that be nice? I ask. You still get to decide, but now I have already planted the idea of being on your knees and the idea that it’s nice. You will likely follow along.
The feelings are in part, coming from you. As a hypnotist, I cannot force you to feel something you do not want to feel, but I can encourage you to give in to a feeling more strongly. I can influence how you notice the feeling and let it grow, and let it linger in your mind. I can even create the illusion of a chastity cage on your body, and your body mind will accept it and believe it.
The whole time that I am guiding you, you still have the sense that you can stop this at any time. And because you do not feel forced to continue, you want to continue. To really influence someone you must guide them while giving them the sense that they are in control. You can get a sense for it in my “On Your Knees” Hypnosis. In this recording I leaned heavily on hypnotic suggestion to pull the subject into a submissive state.
Conclusion
The theme behind all of this is: hypnosis is not a magic or pseudoscience, it’s a form of social influence that we are all susceptible to. While you are in a trance, the social influence has an even greater effect than normal, and often you will not notice. c
